Transcript
1: From inside her house, we see Rhoda’s front door. The windows tell us that it is now night time.
2: Returning home with a bag of leftovers in hand, Rhoda crosses the room to her kitchen. She notices the old book Melissa left on her table.
Rhoda (inquisitive noise): Hrmm?
3: She pulls up the note that was attached to the old book.
Note: I think this book might have answers
It’s a bit much for me

4: We see her thumb through the pages of the old book with her right hand, left clutching the cloth that looks similar to what Melissa received from the temple last issue.
5: Both hands now unwrap this bundle.
6: Her face looks confused as she studies it.
7: In her hand is the King family heirloom key.
Mel knows exactly what Rhoda isn’t telling her. “You have more knowhow than I do, have fun”
Ooh, the Chekhov… I mean, King, family key!
… why does Mel think that’s relevant?
Yeah, I wonder about that.
In this story’s universe, can you tap into the King Family’s magic, if you do a spell on a key, or another
object of theirs?
If you do magic, can the key work like a magic wand, or something?

I’m no expert on this, but Zalef-‘abev seems like a Hebrew or Arabic (the two languages are related) name, and the book seems to be in Hebrew. Maybe Mel recognized this similarity.
Or she’s taking a wild guess.
