4: The sample is revealed; it has “hatched” into the form of a surprised Melissa.

Congratulations! It’s a Mel!
Remember Mel? She’s back, in stasis tube form!
I’m gonna be so sad when this comic ends, it means so much to me.
Yep. Saw this coming. So much for heroic sacrifice eh?
Eh, I feel like the hero has to, you know, KNOW that they’ll be sacrificed for it to be a heroic sacrifice. It seems pretty clear that Mel didn’t know the her eldritch Pokémon was going to bust out of her chest.
No one saw that coming, with very likely exceptions of Zalef-Labev (The Smiling Man) and Tazim-Talash.
Yesssssss.

Somewhere, out there- the Black Idol said: “Nope! I’m not having the end of this very…innocent one on MY conscience.

Aand I bet they’re gonna be All Sorts of suspicious that she’s gonna be another doppelganger or something, especially since that thing has been writhing and preparing to hatch for quite some time now.
I’m betting it’s really her though, but that the memories Krizman mentioned a few pages back were added to her own memories, and/or maybe she had a chat with one of the gods and has some sort of information for them about this whole ordeal.
Or maybe it’s not really her, and she knows it’s not really her, but she also remembers everything about Mel and inherited her memories and whatnot, so it’s actually open about that and tells them that it’s not actually her even though it feels like it’s her.
I LAUGHED OUT LOUD!
I had the tiniest thought of “Wait, what if?” but didn’t dare hope! Now THAT’S a twist!
Thank goodness. I don’t know how or why, but I’m not going to question it.

before you end this comic, could you please draw a scene of Julia, + maybe with Mel in it as well, playing an electric guitar, and singing the song: “Black Dog” by Led Zeppelin?
I mean, I won’t be mopey or anything if you don’t do that, but I think that would be a fun pic to see. 😀 😀
