1: Beside the body of Melissa, Krizman speaks, as black blood leaks from his mouth. Melissa, on her back with her head facing him, doesn’t move.
Krizman: Melissa…
2: The view zooms out, showing Melissa’s gutted torso. Ribs have been cracked open and to the side and many organs have burst or otherwise disappeared.
Kirzman: If you could just know what we know… what we remember…
If you could see what we’ve seen…
3: Seen from further still, they both lay on the ground which was now devoid of any traces of Black Mass. Kirzman is only half a body and he’s just a bloody pulp from the stomach down. Melissa has not moved at all.
Krizman: You wouldn’t reject us…

Tried to save everyone from becoming a plankton snack to giant whale gods, failed. Oh well.
Oh now you’re trying to ask nicely. Also, what Ralston said. How are you talking when your diaphragm is gone? (Eldritch biology/physics, obviously.)
Black-mass-animated lung tissue, complete with the capability to close newly-acquired holes in it, I suppose.
(With the surrounding chest being torn open, down to bare ribs, a diaphragm alone wouldn’t help any.)
How are they still ALIVE at all?
They’re not. They’re just giving their parting shots.
He doesn’t die cursing his defeat. He dies lamenting that he failed to save everyone from being eldritch whale plankton.
