1: At the train station, Haji stands before a notice board covered in fliers and advertisements, most of which represent foreign (European) products, or names, in the background are stores and advertisements to capitalize on tourism. He lights a cigarette.
2: Haji looks up at the fliers behind him.
3: Two European posters are freshly posted over a jackal lady in traditional Egyptian dress.
4: Trailing smoke behind him, Haji has a bunch of papers crumpled up in his hand, many of the new fliers torn down as he storms off.
still have not figured out why he pulled all the adds off the Bulletin board. Frustration maybe…
The ads he ripped off were for European products, and the ones he revealed beneath were Egyptian native products. He talks about similar issues elsewhere in the issue!
Oh I see Domestics over Imports..
there is a huge complicated fight behind that. but it boils down to keeping the wealth in Egypt. something the new Age politicians and economists won’t talk about.. Open economies only service the global company’s, it completely kills the local economy and people that live there. making all the wealth leave the nation. kind of foreshadows the dead mall we see later on in this series.
