1: Njeri and Okpara face each other, sitting at a table as they speak.
Njeri: In time, I’m hoping you will help us learn more about your people, about the aliens among us, and about us as a species.
Okpara: I… I will do what I can.
I’ve come to realize that our knowledge is limited and fragmented, likely on purpose. I think there’s a larger picture that I cannot see.
2: Njeri speaking with passion.
Njeri: For now… there is one thing I- We, need to know most of all.
The radiation, the background radiation… It is transmitted from several discrete points in Earth’s orbit. It keeps us like… this. It keeps us normal. If you know what it is-
3: Okpara’s forlorn eyes.
Okpara: It is a prison.
4: Behind the speaking Okpara is a view of old reptilian culture where Black Mass is shaped into draft animals and such.
Okpara: From what I have been told…
Your people used to be a servant race to our own.
We used you for labor, transportation, combat… We were able to shape you into any creature we could imagine.
5: Okpara looks away.
Okpara: But, one day, you broke free of our control and rebelled.
