1: Okpara listening to Jackson, who keeps up a stern look.
Jackson: I think you and I know exactly who among the facility staff are imposters.
They won’t find you, so if you think someone else can, you need to tell us.
2: Okpara looks down and thinks sadly.
3: Her sad eyes.
Okpara: He is… old.
4: She speaks. Behind her is the vision of some strange, lumbering shape looming.
Okpara: He has hinted that he is nearly 200 years old.
He helped awaken the first of us from stasis, the original members of our clan that had been frozen since ancient times.
He helped bring us, as a species, back to life.
5: She’s holding her face, tearing up.
Okpara: He says he’s on our side. He helps us infiltrate you, organizes our plans to… to further our survival, but…
6: Njeri leans in with concern.
7: Okpara’s despair.
Okpara: Our children…
Key to being a bad guy:
1. Always have nefarious plots involving children.
And loom menacingly in the background whenever someone is talking fearfully about you
“He” looks vaguely insectoid. I’m guessing it’s Hedgeworth (last seen, I believe, in Issue 13, Page 23), who somehow solved the problem of his species’s short lifespan, among other changes.
Shh our friend that Headgewood Revived I bet! to help him find the Sample.
You mean the one he shot, who was more interested in waking his brethren than finding a sample?
Who are the slaves now?
Funny how it always, ALWAYS works that way, isn’t it?
The slave owners becoming slaves themselves?
…I KNOW that guy! That guy that Njeri is thinking about.
That’s [Count Dante], the 1970s, Karate expert! 😀
Actually, I DO love the look of this unknown bad guy!
Great art, Rebecca!
🙂
