1: Scenes of slaughter as Black Mass turn against its owners. There is also a scene of two ancient dinosaur creatures retreating into a dark tunnel carrying bags.
Okpara: Overnight, our society was in ruins as every slave and beast of burden suddenly turned into creatures of nightmare.
We had to escape to underground bunkers, a tiny fraction of the population we once were. We intended to emerge with a solution, but… it never happened, I don’t know why…

2: A view of an exotic and arcane looking satellite of black metal floating around Earth.
Okpara: While we hid, someone… some other species or society from somewhere far from this system… they established a network of hidden satellites that cloaked this planet and its moon in a psychic web.
It locked you all as you are now: one being split into billions, frozen in the illusion of biology.

3: Njeri looks heartbroken.
Njeri: So… that’s it…? We were… some sort of slave race…
Okpara: No.

4: Okpara looks down, unable to look him in the eye.
Okpara: That is what we used you for.
I don’t know where you come from, how you came to be, or who decided to lock you as you are instead of simply destroying you… but other visitors from the stars have made it clear what you are to the rest of the galaxy:

We should have known from the beginning.
When we asked for feet, we got claws.
When we asked for twelve eyes, we got thirteen.
We asked for muscle with no mind; it should not have shocked us when thoughts still came and they were full of resentment.
But it was cheap. It was easy. It made life so much easier.
And so we raised our children to control you, children of ornate horns and strange minds, children who could reach out and change the world without moving.
Would you always betray us? Or did we put clay in the hands of children, only to be shocked when we didn’t like what they made?
Perhaps we were all children.
Who gave us this clay?
