2: The three stand silently by the rover.
3: The fox now takes his helmet off, black smoke escaping his suit.

There’s gotta be a way to read that text.
He was gone before he even took the helmet off. There’s a field of stars, different than the one in space visible in the Tanuki’s Helmet’s opening. The same field of stars in the Fox’s helmet as they stand silently before he takes off the helm.
Oh boy…
